One of the most critical items on our bike is also one of the most neglected. 80% of tire failures are caused by underinflation. Check those tire pressures often and set them to the motorcycle manufacturers' recommended pressure.

When was the last time you inspected the tread on your tire? When checking them over, look for the following things:

  • How is the overall condition? Make sure there are no large cracks in the sidewalls or in between the tread.
  • Next will be finding the wear bars between the tread to see how much life you have left in the tire.
  • Now go ahead and rotate the tire a full revolution to inspect there is nothing stuck in the tire that shouldn't be.
  • Look to see if you have cupping in the tire. Not only does this cause more noise as you lean the bike over in the corner, but it can also affect the motorcycle’s overall handling.

Getting new tires? Go easy for the first 50 to 75 miles. This will allow any contaminants from the manufacturing process to wear off before pushing the motorcycle too hard in the corners.

As always, the team at 2Brothers Powersports is here to help. If you have any questions about tires or are looking to get new tires, stop in or give us a call at 608-781-3360.
